Fincci’s pack is the most fully specified road tire in this hub, and it is sold in the quantity people actually need.

What the manufacturer publishes

A black Conna tire in 700x25c with ETRTO 25-622, supplied as a two-pack. Each tire weighs 200 g (7.1 oz) with a TPI of 120, balancing weight and durability. A 1 mm (0.04 in) protection layer. Construction in nylon and rubber compound with a Kevlar bead for reinforcement. A tread described as offering good traction, suited to city and racing use.

Why publishing the protection thickness matters

Every tire manufacturer names its protection belt — V-Guard, K-Guard, GatorSkin — and none of those names tell you anything comparable. A millimeter figure does. It is not the whole story, since material and construction matter too, but it is a number rather than a trademark.

The 120 TPI position

Between the supple 180 TPI casings and the tough 60 TPI ones. For a training tire carrying a protection layer, that is the sensible place to be — a very supple casing under an armored tread is a contradiction.

Two hundred grams

Light for a protected tire. For comparison, a heavily armored commuting tire in this size is often 300 to 400 g (10.6 to 14.1 oz).

The pair

Tires wear at different rates — the rear far faster — but replacing both at once means matched grip front and rear, which is what you want when the road is wet.

The questions riders ask

How much protection does 1 mm (0.04 in) give?

It is a real figure rather than a brand name, which makes it comparable. What it cannot tell you is the material or how it is constructed, which also matter — but a published thickness is more than most tires offer.

Is 120 TPI worse than 180?

Less supple, and generally more robust. TPI is a trade rather than a score: high counts roll better and are more fragile, low counts are tougher and duller. 120 sits in the middle.
