What you are getting

A tubeless plug kit weighing 25 g (0.9 oz) — the lightest thing on this page — in CNC-machined aluminum, with eight 1.5 mm (0.06 in) plugs, and two separate tools: a reamer and a tire fork. Eight colors. $22.16.

Two tools, which is the real difference

“Included are two tools, a tire reamer and a tire fork… Most kits include only the tire fork to do the job of both tools.”

That claim is true of the other two plug kits on this page: the PRO BIKE TOOL and the Lezyne each combine reamer and inserter in one piece. Here they are separate.

The two jobs are genuinely different. A reamer roughens and opens the hole so the plug grips; a fork pushes the plug in and pulls back out leaving it behind. A combined tool compromises on both profiles. Two tools cost 25 g (0.9 oz) in total, which is the answer to whether the compromise was ever necessary.

25 g (0.9 oz), and the claim behind it

“It’s 2 to 3 times lighter than any other tubeless bike tire repair kits on the market because it’s made entirely of sleek CNC machined aluminum.”

Against this page: the Lezyne is 33.2 g (1.2 oz) and the PRO BIKE TOOL 50 g (1.8 oz). So “2 to 3 times” is an overstatement — it is 25% lighter than the Lezyne and half the PRO BIKE TOOL — but the direction is right and 25 g (0.9 oz) is genuinely the lightest figure in the survey.

All three are aluminum, so the weight came from carrying less, not from a better material.

Eight plugs of one size, and a workaround for the rest

“Eight × 1.5 mm (0.06 in) bacon strips… The smaller strips will plug up any hole that threatens to stop your ride. If you get an unusually large hole, worry not. Just twist a few repair bacon strands together and repair like normal.”

Twisting strands is a real technique and it works. It is also a workaround for not carrying a larger plug, which the PRO BIKE TOOL kit on this page does at 3.5 mm (0.14 in). Eight small plugs will cover more punctures than five; one 3.5 mm (0.14 in) plug will cover a bigger one.

It names the sealants it comes after

“If you get a puncture too large for your sealant (like Stans No Tubes Tire Sealant, Slime Sealer, or others).”

Naming the sealant is useful because it places the tool in the sequence: sealant first, plug when sealant fails, tube when the plug fails. The tubeless sealant shelf on this site is the first of those three.

Eight colors, which is the fifth bullet

“Black, blue, red, green, yellow, pink, purple, and orange. Match your new team frame, kit, or flashy socks.” A saddlebag tool in eight colors is a choice about the buyer, not about the repair, and it is the only bullet here with no function in it.

What is not published

No plug length, no reamer diameter, no canister dimensions — the shipping box is 241 × 127 × 25 mm, which is packaging rather than tool — and no statement about whether a plug repair is permanent.

The questions riders ask

Is a separate reamer worth it?

Yes, and KOM is right that most kits do not have one. The two jobs are different: a reamer roughens and opens the hole so the plug grips, while a fork pushes the plug in and withdraws leaving it behind. A combined tool compromises both profiles. Here they are separate and the whole kit still weighs 25 g (0.9 oz), which rather answers the question of whether the compromise was needed.

Is it really 2 to 3 times lighter than other kits?

No. On this page the Lezyne is 33.2 g (1.2 oz) and the PRO BIKE TOOL 50 g (1.8 oz), so this is 25% lighter than one and half the weight of the other. The claim overstates it; the underlying figure is still the lowest in the survey. All three are aluminum, so the weight was saved by carrying less, not by a better material.

What if the hole is too big for a 1.5 mm (0.06 in) plug?

KOM’s own answer is to "twist a few repair bacon strands together", which does work and is standard practice. The alternative is to carry a bigger plug, and the PRO BIKE TOOL kit on this page does: five 3.5 mm (0.14 in) strips alongside five 1.5 mm (0.06 in) ones. For a trail bike where a sidewall gash is plausible, the second size is worth the extra 25 g (0.9 oz).
