Our conclusion A proper bell for the price of a coffee. Check the bar diameter where it will mount before ordering.
Büchel’s mini bell is the cheapest thing on this site and it does the job properly.
What the manufacturer publishes
A universal mount for bars of 21.8 mm (0.86 in) and 28 mm (1.10 in) diameter, with rubber inserts supplied. A 35 mm (1.38 in) bell dome with a stated loudness of up to 100 decibels. A waterproof and rustproof steel construction. Quick installation with a single cross-head screw. Rotation through 360°.
The diameter question, which decides everything
Handlebars are not one size. A drop bar is around 23.8 mm (0.94 in) at the tops. A flat bar is commonly 22.2 mm (0.87 in) at the grips and 31.8 mm (1.25 in) at the stem clamp. This bell covers 21.8 and 28 mm (1.10 in) with inserts, which fits many bikes and not all of them — measure where the bell will actually sit rather than at the stem.
The 360° rotation
Useful because handlebars are crowded. Being able to rotate the striker means the bell can go under the bar, out of the way of a computer mount or a light, and still be reachable with a thumb.
On the requirement
Whether a bell is legally required depends on the country, and the rules change. Read the requirement for where you ride from the authority that publishes it — this page reports products, not law.

The questions riders ask
Will it fit my handlebar?
Büchel states 21.8 and 28 mm (1.10 in) with the supplied rubber inserts. Measure at the point where the bell will sit — many flat bars are 22.2 mm (0.87 in) at the grips and 31.8 mm (1.25 in) only at the stem.
Is 100 dB loud?
It is a working bell rather than a token one, and the manufacturer states up to 100 dB from a 35 mm (1.38 in) dome. Loudness figures are stated at a reference distance the manufacturer does not publish here.
