TITANLOCK’s folding lock is the first in this hub to name an independent certification rather than a self-assigned figure.
ART certification. A protected closing mechanism intended to keep dust and dirt out of the cylinder and to resist drilling. An anti-scratch coating on the lock body plus a rubberized bracket back, both aimed at not marking the frame. One hundred centimeters of length, presented as suiting city bikes, e-bikes, e-scooters and prams.
ART is an independent foundation, and its gradings are recognized by some insurers, particularly in the Netherlands. If your policy names a scheme, a lock that carries it is not a nice-to-have. What the maker does not publish here is the ART level, which is the part an insurer usually names. That is worth establishing from the seller or the manufacturer before buying on this basis.
One hundred centimeters is generous, and the protected cylinder addresses the single most common complaint about folding locks in daily use: they jam because the barrel fills with grit. The anti-scratch measures address the second.
