DANSI Battery light set, 30/15 lux vs Realky USB light set, 30 lux

Batteries you replace, or a lamp you charge?

Both are StVZO-declared sets at essentially the same front brightness and the same price bracket. The difference is what happens on the evening you forgot — and there is a real argument on each side.

Which of the two, for which rider

Battery light set, 30/15 lux

No amazon.com listing was found for this one. We hold references for other markets but none for the United States, so it may not be buyable here — which is the first thing to weigh against anything below.

The set for a commute where being caught out has consequences. A flat battery light is solved with a corner shop rather than a charger and three hours, and the level indicator exists because a battery light gives less warning than a rechargeable one. It publishes a rear runtime the Realky does not.

USB light set, 30 lux

No amazon.com listing was found for this one. We hold references for other markets but none for the United States, so it may not be buyable here — which is the first thing to weigh against anything below.

The set with no running cost and a published housing. USB charging on both lamps means one cable for everything, and the screw mounting holds better than a rubber strap on rough surfaces. Realky publishes no rear runtime, which on a rear lamp is the figure that matters.

The questions riders ask

Is 30 lux enough?

On lit streets, comfortably — it is enough to be seen and to read the surface at commuting speed. On unlit lanes it is a compromise; the SIGMA Aura 80 in this hub states 80 lux, and because an approved beam has a defined cut-off, that extra output goes onto the road rather than into oncoming faces.

What does StVZO mean here?

The German road traffic regulations, which define a beam with a sharp upper cut-off. Both manufacturers state conformity themselves; we report the statement and do not assess it.

Which mounting is better?

Realky states hand-loosened screws rather than a rubber strap, which holds better on rough surfaces and takes longer to move between bikes. DANSI states tool-free mounting, which is the opposite trade. Neither is a defect.
