A 28-liter roll-top pannier in AquaShield TPU with a tool-free click mounting system, converting to a shoulder or shopping bag with the supplied strap.
Our conclusion The construction to buy if you commute in the wet: TPU, roll-top, click mount. Buy two if you carry a real load.
Nextcover’s pannier is the construction the others in this hub approximate.
What the manufacturer publishes
Tool-free adjustable click mounting, fitting quickly to any rack. Twenty-eight liters of packing volume, described as taking a laptop or a weekend’s kit. One hundred per cent waterproof AquaShield TPU, tear resistant, odor neutral and durable, with a roll closure. Two-in-one versatility with an included carrying strap, converting to a shoulder or shopping bag.
Roll-top and welded TPU together
This is the combination that actually stays dry: a welded material with no stitch holes and a closure with no zip. Everything else is a compromise on one of the two.
TPU against PVC
Lighter, more flexible in cold weather, and it does not carry the plastic smell PVC has when new. It costs more, which is most of the price difference against the GUOOTU pair in this hub.
The click system
Faster than buckles, and it needs a rack rail the system fits. Nextcover describes it as adjustable and fitting any rack; measure your rail and check before ordering, because a mounting system is not a size that flexes.
The capacity note
Twenty-eight liters is the unrolled figure. A roll-top rolled three times, as every manufacturer recommends, gives up a couple of liters — which is worth knowing if you are packing to the limit.
What we rate and what we flag
Strengths
A roll-top closure in TPU — the construction that genuinely keeps water out
A click mounting system rather than straps, so it comes off in a second
TPU is lighter and more pleasant to handle than PVC
Compromises
One bag, so a balanced pair costs twice
The click system needs a rail it fits — confirm your rack before ordering
A roll-top loses a little capacity every time it is rolled properly

The questions riders ask
Why a roll-top rather than a zip?
A zip is the weak point of any waterproof bag: water eventually passes it in sustained rain. A roll-top has no opening at all once closed, which is why every serious dry bag uses one.
What is TPU?
A thermoplastic polyurethane. Nextcover describes it as tear resistant, odor neutral and durable. It is lighter and more flexible in cold than PVC, and it welds the same way.
