A bike is a collection of awkward shapes. Between the sprockets needs something narrow and stiff. A frame needs something soft and wide. Tires need something aggressive. A derailleur cage needs something small enough to get inside it. One or two brushes always means doing part of the job badly.
Useful for a reason that is not obvious: one gets used with degreaser and stays oily forever; the other stays for soapy water. Mixing them puts drivetrain grease onto the frame.
