BriskMore CO2 inflator kit with control valve review

A CO2 kit whose head has a control valve for metering the gas rather than releasing it all at once, in CNC-machined aluminum alloy and heat-treated steel.

Our conclusion The better-made head of the two CO2 kits here. The control valve is worth having if you have ever emptied a cartridge past a badly seated bead.

BriskMore’s kit is the engineered version of the CO2 inflator, and the differences are in the head.

What the manufacturer publishes

An inflator head, five 16 g (0.6 oz) 3/8 inch threaded cartridges. Fitting for Presta and Schrader valves, with washers sealing the threaded connection against leakage. A head in robust aluminum alloy and alloy steel, CNC machined and heat treated. A reliable control valve for precise adjustment, easy to operate.

Why the control valve is the feature

Without one, connecting a cartridge releases everything. If the tire bead is not seated properly, that entire cartridge escapes past it and you are left with a flat tire and no gas. With a control valve you release a little, check the bead has seated, and then finish the job.

Anyone who has lost a cartridge that way buys a control valve next time.

The head construction

CNC machining and heat treatment on a part costing a few dollars is worth noting. Inflator heads fail at the thread and at the seal, and both are addressed here.

The same CO2 caveats

One cartridge, one inflation. CO2 escapes through tube walls faster than air, so top up at home. And the cartridge gets very cold as it empties — hold it through something.

What we rate and what we flag

Strengths

  • A control valve, so you can meter the gas instead of emptying a cartridge in one burst
  • A CNC-machined and heat-treated head rather than a cast one
  • Sealing washers on the threaded connection against leakage

Compromises

  • Rank 5,270, so less bought than the Kadacha at a similar price
  • Still one cartridge per inflation
  • The manufacturer does not state the achieved pressure per cartridge

The questions riders ask

What does the control valve do?

It lets you release gas gradually rather than in one burst. That matters when you want to seat the tire bead, check it is sitting correctly, and only then bring it to pressure.

Will the head leak?

BriskMore states sealing washers on the threaded connection to prevent leakage, which is the usual failure point on a cheap inflator.

Our score

7.8/ 10

The better-made head of the two CO2 kits here. The control valve is worth having if you have ever emptied a cartridge past a badly seated bead.

Who buys this one, among bike gear

Riders who want to part-inflate, check the tire is seated, and then finish — rather than committing the whole cartridge blind.

What buyers actually choose

Amazon reports what buyers took in the month before this page was last checked: at least 1,000.

The figure is a floor, rounded by Amazon, and read through Keepa — it says what buyers picked, not what a maker claims.
