Fincci

The tire that publishes its own numbers

Fincci sells tires in pairs and publishes more figures about them than most manufacturers.

Where it appears here

A pair of 700x25c road tires and a pair of 700x35c commuting tires.

What it is genuinely good at

Publishing a protection thickness. One millimeter, stated as a nylon layer. Every tire manufacturer names its protection belt — V-Guard, K-Guard, GatorSkin — and none of those names is comparable to another. A millimeter figure is.

Publishing weight and TPI alongside it: 200 g at 120 TPI for the road tire, 425 g for the commuter. Those three figures together describe what the tire actually is.

Selling pairs, which is what people need. Tires wear at different rates but replacing both at once means matched grip front and rear.

Reflective sidewalls on the commuting tire, which light up as a moving circle when headlights catch them from the side — the position where lights point neither forwards nor backwards.

Where it is ordinary

Sales positions are behind Continental and Schwalbe in both hubs, and neither tire is tubeless ready.

What to know before buying

Check your frame’s published clearance. A tire marked 35 mm (1.38 in) measures wider on a wide rim.
